How Biofrost Active works
Biofrost Active affects the body's temperature and pain receptors in two phases:
- First, the skin is cooled (activation of TRPM8)
- This is followed by a warming sensation (activation of TRPV)
TRPM8 is the body’s cold-sensitive receptor (often called the menthol receptor), which is activated when the skin is cooled. When this receptor is stimulated, signals are sent to the brain that can help reduce the sensation of pain.
After a few minutes, the heat-sensitive TRPV receptors are activated. These produce a pleasant warming sensation in the area, which can help increase comfort and reduce muscle tension.
