This is a fast-acting cooling and warming cream that combines two effects in a single treatment. The gel first provides a cooling sensation similar to that of traditional cooling gels, before gradually delivering a warming sensation. How Biofrost Active works
Biofrost Active works by affecting the body's temperature and pain receptors:
- First, the skin's surface temperature drops by up to about 7–8 °C
- Cold-sensitive receptors (TRPM8) are activated and help to dampen pain signals
- After a few minutes, thermal receptors (TRPV) are activated, producing a pleasant warming sensation
Even though the skin feels warm, the temperature remains lower than before application. This provides an effective combination of cooling and warming pain relief.
